We also accept the Texas Common Application. Once WT receives your TX Common Application, you will receive an email with instructions on how to activate your Applicant Portal account. Please do not submit another application once you submit the Texas Common Application.

There is a required, non-refundable international application fee of $90. There are no application fee waivers available.

The fee can be paid in multiple ways:

• As part of your application, before you submit
• By logging into your Applicant Portal and clicking on the Application Fee checklist item

Use ONLY if someone else will pay on your behalf (they will need your Buff ID Number. We cannot process the application fee without this number):

• Through the University Fees website

If you are unable to pay via credit/debit card for any reasons and no one else can pay by credit/debit card on your behalf, please reach out to our office at internationaladmissions@wtamu.edu for instructions on how to pay via wire transfer.

All of the following documents are required for WT to be able to make an admission decision:

• Proof of English Proficiency
  • Please visit our Proof of English Proficiency webpage for details on this requirement
  • This must be submitted directly by the testing agency or institution. If you have taken the IELTS or TOEFL tests, you can upload your unofficial scores to your Applicant Portal and we can verify them. All other scores or documents must be sent to internationaladmissions@wtamu.edu by the institution or testing agency directly.
• Foreign Credential Evaluation Report
  • Please visit our Foreign Credential Evaluation Report webpage for details on this requirement
  • Evaluation reports must be submitted directly by the agency. We do not accept unofficial evaluations submitted by students
• Transcripts & High School Completion Certificate
  • For most countries, this is a senior/higher secondary certificate with results
  • We accept unofficial documents for admission purposes, however you will need to provide final and official documents if admitted. Please upload a copy of your transcripts to your Applicant Portal. We will not process documents that are emailed to us by applicants.
    

For documents that are not in English, we require both the original language and a certified English translation, completed by a certified English translator.

Additional documents may be required at WT's discretion.

International students who receive a WT scholarship of $1,000 or more per academic year are eligible to pay in-state, international tuition rates. You can find estimated costs at on our Costs page here.

To Apply for a Scholarship at WT:

1. Wait 48 hours after you receive your admission letter. Follow the instructions in your admission letter to activate your student account.
2. Go to the Scholarship Application website
3. Click on Current Students and follow the instructions to log in
4. Complete the General Scholarship application. By filling out the general application, you will be reviewed for all possible scholarships that you may qualify for

If you will be on an F1 Student Visa, you will need to be fully admitted and upload the following documents in your Applicant Portal before we can issue an I-20:

• Financial Verification
  • For the amount that you will need to show, please visit our Costs page
  • For details on acceptable documents, please visit here
• Affidavit of Support
  • This is needed if your name is not on the financial verification document, or is not the only name on the document. Please visit here for more information on this and for the link to the form
  • This is not needed for:
    • WT funds (scholarships, graduate assistantships, etc.)
• Passport Biographic Page

Please note: if you are currently in the US on an F1 student visa, we will need some additional documentation. Please visit your Applicant Portal for the full list of documents that we will need.

If you are already in the US on a non-F1 Student Visa, you will need to upload the following documents to your Applicant Portal for us to complete your immigration file:

• Passport Biographic Page
• Visa Stamp and/or USCIS I-797 Approval Notice
• Most Recent I-94

If you will study all-online from your home country and do/will not have a visa, no additional action or documentation is required.

Once admitted, please carefully read through your admission letter and next steps emails. These emails include important information on what you will need to do to register for classes.

Once all required steps and documentation is completed, we will send your name to Advising Services for course registration.
